Hi,
I planted a cunninghams white rhododendron in a place where it's mainly in shade. I didn't realise it would be at the time. I'm new to this! It has lots of new shoots but no flowers yet and no sign of any buds. Should I move it to a more sunny spot and if so, when?
Thanks. |

It should really have buds by now. Cunninghams white prefers partial shade which equals 3 to 6 hours of sunlight a day. Does your Rhodo recieve less than 3hrs of light a day wiggly_woo?
As they are shallow rooted they also require moist but well-drained, compost rich, acid soil or ericaceous compost. If you are failing to offer all this to Cunninghams white, it may not produce flower buds. |

| Thanks cooler. I think it only gets about 1 hour of direct sunlight a day. The soil would be compost rich. I think I'll have to move it! |
