Thinking of planting new black currants what is the best variety for Irish conditions, I would like a bush that gives large currants _________________ for whom the bell rings |

my sister has a "ben lomand" and got 5lbs of fruit from it mostly small marble sized , branches were breaking under the weight i had to put a pole close to it and tie the branches upto it lots of good rotten sh*t around it is the trick  _________________ if you can see the mountain its gonna rain if you can't its allready raining ! |

Ben Lomond as I have mentioned in my book is a good variety and if treated well with plenty manure will give consistently heavy yields.
