|

There is a lily growing in my parents garden, for years now. It flowers every year and dies back without fail. It has large, white, trumpet flowers like a Calla Lily. But from what I have read the Calla Lily has to be lifted before the frost.
Shot in the dark....but would anyone know what kind of lily this would be. The place where it is would be not be very sheltered so I am guessing that it isn't a Calla!! |

yip - something like that. I think my parents one gets more leaves, less flowers.
I think it's lovely, I just don't want to have to keep lifting it and bringing it indoors as I'm running out of space. So I'd like one that is frost hardy. |

That bulb / perennial is Zantedeschia, which flowers from May to June in moist, rich soil.
It is frost hardy in all but severe frosts here.
Your parents version of this may require a potassium or potash feed after flowering to increase the plants flowering. |
