I was out walking in the woods today and came across hundreds of wild strawberry plants. This may be a stupid question but would I be able to take a few runners/small plants from these or is it illegal? I wouldn't want to do it if its illegal only if its ok. Does anyone know the rules on this? _________________ Please excuse my ignorance I'm new to this. |

is it worth it?when you can go and pick the fruit from where it is and it will return there next year, and it obviously is it its best habitat and may not grow where you put it? i`ve done this with with a wild bilberry and it never grew as good as the rest left growing on the bankside, and the fruit from the wild strawberry is so small compared to the ones we grow in our garden, and the flowers are pretty but small and llok best in the wild, (just a thought not a moan) |

We have actually had better luck with wild strawberries in our allotment than with our cultivated types. A friend of mine gave me some wild ones last year and they are flourishing, out of 12 cultivated type we have lost half of them. _________________ Please excuse my ignorance I'm new to this. |
