|
|
I will become the new owner of a 14x24 foot polytunnel next week. I have very compacted soil so I will be putting in some 9" high raised beds along two sides and one row in the centre. I would like some advice please on some things
Should I cover the whole floor in plastic or geotextile? or just where the paths will be.
Do I need crop bars in order to support tall plants such as tomatoes, beans or could I do without?
Do tomatoes always have to be grown in the centre of the tunnel as it is at its highest? How does this work then in regards to crop rotaton - grow shorter tomato plants I assume?
I don't plan on getting ahead of myself to start - want to begin with things my family enjoy eating the most. Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, parsnips, beetroot, salads, carrots etc.
Can't wait to get started, feel like a child again... |
