POTATO PROBLEMS
I've a lot to learn about potato growing. Just started (15 Oct) to dig this year's crop of Sarpo MirA blight-resistant potatoes. A small number have large (slug) holes. However, about 20% have small 2mm holes with no insect inside to identify the cause :-
Will they store? If not can I clean, cook, mash and freeze them? How can I clear the ground of the insects for next year?
A few are slightly green due to bad earthing up by me, can I store them with the good ones and use them after cutting up the green area? Can I use them for seed potatoes next year?
What are small black spots on the leaves a sign of ? _________________ RFMJR |

They may. But if they begin to rot they will set all the good ones off rotting as well. Any chance you could keep the holey and unholey ones in seperate areas.

Yes you can of course.

The article that Belfast linked you to has another link at its base for an article on wireworm and slugs in potatoes. Read that.

Well the green area is slightly poisonous, so I would make sure there is not an inch of it left if I was to attempt eating them. If the potato has a bitter taste, don't eat it

Yes.

Possibly blight, water or sun damage. Hard to tell without seeing them. _________________ ______________________________
