greetings fellow gardeners!! I am delighted to be part of the forum.

its the time of year for thinking to grow winter vegetables.......

i have a quarter acre to plant vegetables

could you please advise on the best type to grow this month......i have heard of root vegtables and winter greens but no one has given me the specifics of what to set

ferryman, spring cabbage transplant can go in now.
Try local markets and garden centres for them.
Got a polytunnel or glasshouse available to you, then see here...... Autumn / Winter growing in polytunnel also... What veg could I plant now (autumn)

thanks James and to Beal Feirste for your inside into autumn & winter work in the veggie garden and prep for next year.............

some of the work mentioned was to dig uncultivated areas now and cover with black plastic sheeting...........

would either of you have a view on this and what is the best way to prepare new ground for next year??

also any tips on where to purchase the plastic sheeting?
