Hi Folks. I sowed some Carrot's this year in my Garden, and out of the Crop, i had one White, or off-white looking Carrot. Just interested to know, if its an Albino Carrot, if so, are they common in crops, or are they safe to eat. Its my first one to see growing in the Garden. (Photo attached) Its a bit ''twisted',' due to stones in the soil, i think.

Try scratching and sniffing - root veg usually have a distinctive smell. I'd taste it if I were you. It's unlikely to be dangerous.

the wild carrot Daucus carota from which the cultvated carrot is derived has a white root and this is just a throw back or a genetic variation. it is quite safe to eat and is not unusual in a field of carrots.

Thank's michael, for clearing things up, we learn something everyday. It might be for the pot tomorrow so, 'Foxylock' so if you do not see me on, in this Forum, you all know what happened. Anyway, many thanks Michael, and to all the Guys/Gals.
