Thank's Foxylock, for your help, The only problem i see with those ( they are very nice) they are very fast growing, and it seems as if their's a lot of clipping, to keep them under control, and on the other hand its only 12yds long, yes will def..... think about them, and many thank's again. |

Be careful you don't end up shading your vegetable patch.....5 or 6 ft high casts quite a shadow. Otherwise, I would go for hornbeam (on clay) or beech, both beautiful, and clipped once a year. |

I presume by saying 5 or 6 feet high that you want to hide the vegetable garden.
What about Photinia Red Robin? Colourful, doesn't need much clipping and will let air circulate between the two areas.
If you didn't want to go so high, what about a row of lavender instead of hedging? _________________ .

Hi Sive and kindredspirit. Yes the shading could be a problem. I dont know if the Photinia Red Robin, would grow here in my type of soil, in the Midland's. What hight, or how wide would the lavender grow, or is it fast growing ? Many thanks for the help Guys. |

Thank's forest flame. The pittisporum tom thumb, is fantastic looking, For me its "well worth considering" and low growing as well, It only grows 3ft, but on second thoughts, i think thats probably the right height, for where its going, and wont block the sun from the Veg patch as much. |
