Can anyone advise on the suitability of using shredded cypress hedge cuttings as a mulch in the garden? |

i would let them decompose for a few weeks turning them occassionly if that is feasable before adding them to beds.they should increase the soils acidity and only mulch to a max of 2 inches deep so as to allow air through |

That's great thanks!
I was concerned about the acidity but letting them decompose first makes sense.
I have just 'trimmed' a cypress hedge from 14 feet down to a more manageable 7feet, so lots of mulch |

I agree with forest flame. Compost the clippings for about two months to avoid the leeching of chemicals from the wood which can harm plants it is spread around. _________________ 'Unemployment is capitalisms way of getting you to plant a garden'.
