well i went to 3 days ,wed thurs and friday,it was brilliant,i gathered lots of knowledge and had a great time, took my oldest daughter and we stayed in a hotel in tullow,i cant say how grateful i am that i won 2 passes to any event,i would never have gone,i didnt even know these things existed, and so would never have looked for them, and if i saw them advertised i would have expected lots of very knowlegable gardeners there and would not have considered going, but i`m totaly hooked as is my daughter, and am going to book again for the full week next year and take the whole family,as there was so much for the kids in carlow, and the gardens etc were so interesting even my dh would have appreciated it,he does the digging but there the interest stops, but he does apreciate beatiful gardens and the 2 we saw were every bit that,so many idea`s now in my head, and i understand the importance of getting the correct name not just a discription of a plant where possible, even the naming of plants was explained so even i with my lack of knowledge had an understanding of it,i cant say anything negative and i recommend going next year to all and sundry i meet, try it,it was one of the best breaks i`ve had,Carlow is lovely and lots of nice places to eat,the garden centre,Rathgal had a nice resturant and very reasonable too, and they even had soya for folks like me instead of milk for my tea! next year i will book in Tallow again as it was central to all places i went,
thank you ,pics to follow when i can download them, tried today but failed

Thanks for the recommendation....something to plan for next year. I actually think County Carlow is one of those totally undiscovered corners of the country....I think it is very beautiful, so no wonder you had such a good time.
