Up to a couple days ago, I had a luxurious stately clump of giant Arum lilies with about 12 white throated blooms standing majestically...
They have been blown over, and now lay flat on the grass. I tried staking them, but as they are so fleshy and flimsy, I was not successful.
Question is, can I lift and make smaller clumps now that they are in full bloom? or do I have to wait till foliage dies down?
My instinct tells me its the latter...
Also there are quite a few small plants round the base, could I perhaps transplant those now?

You might be better to leave well alone and lift/split them next spring when they start growing again.

Your instinct is right. Autumn, winter or very early spring would be much better times. I believe arum lilies come from corms so like most bulbs would like to take in energy from the sun now then be moved later.

You could, as being young it may not make much odds when you move them. Although Autumn, winter or very early spring would be better. I seem to remember reading somewhere that arum lilies prefer to be a bit crowded, makes them flower better apparently. _________________ 'Unemployment is capitalisms way of getting you to plant a garden'.
