Hi there. I found this plant growing in the middle of my driveway last year. I dug it up and potted it. It has had huge growth spurts ever since. Is this a tree or have I been nursing a weed for the last year? If it is a tree, could someone kindly identify it. Thanks so much.

i think it is common alder alnus glutinosa.
