Hi there I don't think you are late for courgettes which you could get at a garden centre already started and about 9" high in a pot. You could plant kale seeds for transplanting in July for greens for the winter. Lettuce and rocket can also be started in pots of compost in a warmish spot to germinate and then plant into your bed. Beetroot and kohlrabi could also be planted straight in from seed. Swiss chard will also germinate quickly in this heat and give you a crop. You could try dwarf french beans and peas. Last year I got a few raised beds ready in June and July and had loads of peas and french beans from mid August to October. You could also plant carrots now, though they may not grow as big as those started earlier. |

you could still seeds of peas (use early variety). broad beans, french beans, lettuces, radish, turnips, swedes, beet spinach. you could plant plants of cabbages summer autumn and winter, cauliflower, broccoli, kale, leeks and courgettes.

Thanks guys n gals. I bought 10 cabbage plants, a courgette seedling and two dwarf string beans during the week. Also will sow anothe row of spring onions. The bed back left is the vacant one. Was.
