Hi all
Another item I have inherited with my new garden is this old feeding trough which has become wild & a bit of an eye sore just outside my window. It is a shame to not use it thou & i thought it would make a great spot for some herbs for the kitchen which must have been what the pervious owners thought too as I found some old labels while digging.

But how suitable is it for planting, drainage is a problem and what seems to have done the best in it is moss. Is there something I can mix with the soil to help any advise ??

People pay a fortune for those old troughs these days. Put plenty crocks in the bottom and include plenty sharp sand in the compost. Don't try what I know some one else tried, knocking a hole in the bottom for drainage, he ended up with a flat-pack stone trough Rolling Eyes
Bill.
