Hi, I've come across another plant that I'd be glad of id help with.....
The flower looks like chicory, but the leaves definitely don't - they make me think more of lettuce! All clues would be very welcome...

I'd say it is either Cichorium intybus or else Cichorium endivia.
I believe this is cultivated and used as leaf vegetable under the common names radicchio or radicchio lettuce.
This chicory can be cooked or used in salads.

Hi GPI , thanks for your reply. The leaves seem very wrong for Cichorium intybus, and I can't find an illustration for Cichorium endivia - would you or anyone else have one they could post. It does make me think of an 'edible' .......

Thank you GPI, that looks like more of a match, so its an escaped endive rather than an escaped chicory......
