Hi Everyone. We have an issue with our garden trees - they have become a bit overgrown and unshapely.

The first is a laburnum. See below: Any ideas how to prune and shape this tree to make it neat and tidy and when is the best time to prune it?

I would "Crown Raise" it.

That is, cut off all the lower branches completely until you reach a height you're happy with. You can go higher with crown raising than you think at first.
