Have about three quarters of an acre and after many years have just got proper sloping beds with proper top soil put in the back.

Have started structure with large shrubs to the back against wall, and am working forward. Really haven't a clue but sure its great fun.

If the digging doesn't kill me, the cost of the plants will.

Look forward to getting lots of advice.

Hi enthuse,
One way to cut the planting cost a bit is to buy plants small and then let them grow on in a holding bed - by the time you've all your beds dug and ready they will be a year or two bigger.....or in the autumn you can buy plants bare-root which is a lot cheaper than in pots.
