Hi Verge

I don't want to sound like an old cynic (but often do!) but I think the energy issue could concentrate more on not using the stuff in the first place!

I like the idea of local economies and of course 'growing your own'. LETS systems, allotments, amenities within walking distance etc...

One brewing company in Greenland appear to be going with the flow of the melting icecaps by harnessing one of their homeland's fastest growing—but least celebrated—natural resources: melted Arctic ice. They are making the most of the situation by producing a 'Smooth delicate beer'

Cheers

Ian

Hi

Just a quick update on where I am at. I stopped working for the Inish Times and have moved to the Inishowen Independent.

Hopefully I will be doing a weekly organic gardening article.....see below

NEW GARDENING COLUMN FOR THE INISHOWEN INDEPENDENT

A new weekly organic gardening column called Gardening Matters has started in the Inishowen Independent, out every Tuesday. Local gardener Ian Gomersall will be recruiting local experts to give advice on your prized patch. You can also access the articles on the Inishindie blog site http://inishindie.blogspot.com You will also find the Forum page for any questions or answers that you might have. We look forward to seeing you there.

If you have any ideas for the article I would love to hear about them!

Cheers

Ian

Hi all

I have been a bit neglectful with my contributions to this site. I have been busy though. I recently aquired the domain name www.gardening.ie

I am in the process of putting together the site but as I am trying to do it in my spare time, it might be a while!! I am building it slowly and as yet there isn't much information on it but, when it has been developed, I am hoping it will be an interactive site.

Please pop in though and have a look at my progress. Feel free to add any suggestions about what could go into the content.

Cheers
