No not even close this was the stand of a very large machine. Not many people would have operated this but nearly every person in ireland would have enjoyed what it done at some point in time. About age 3 up. So keep guessing

OK I'm stumped. Not familiar with it. My guess is pirate radio. But I will find it.

You got it... This was the projector stand from the cinema in redmond square in wexford town. It was going into the skip so i got it home striped it clean and painted it with hammerite. The top is an old glass table top that was going into the skip as well. The whole cost about 30 euros and about a days work. Have to say it turned out really well and very comfortable to sitt at. It's just the right hight.

Are you right about it being from Redmond Square? My guess is that it came from the cinema in Georges Street which was abandoned after the new one was built in Redmond Square about that time which itself has now been replaced by an Omniplex on the southern end of the town.

I was told It was taken out of redmond sq.It was about this time last year. I do a bit of work for the company that striped the cinema just before it was refurbished, but i was not on the job......... just checked with guy that gave it to me it was redmond sq.......... but it could have been 2nd hand going into the cinema. Its called a century JJ it was the most popular 35-70 mm projector ever made. Apparently it was used in all the drive- ins across america and austrlia and most of the cinemas in UK and ireland. They were made from early 50s so i suppose it could have been in several cinemas before redmond sq.

That makes more sense now. As it was only last year that you got it. I assumed from your first post that you got it in 2000. That cinema closed approximately 8 or 9 years ago and at a guess was built in the early 90s. It has been vacant since but from the sound of it some refurbishment is going on. I must check it out.
