Hi Everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone has come across this issue before.

I have some glass panes 600mm X 600mm that I kept from an old greenhouse a couple of years ago. I have a second hand greenhouse that's slightly bigger which I have twinwall poly carbonate in I would like to change some of the Poly out and replace with Glass, sounds simple but theres a catch.

The panel widths on the newer greenhouse are 700mm wide!! I always thought that 600mm was the only size available but hey you learn something new every day.

Is there any way that I can use the 600mm x 600mm panes on this greenhouse or am I as well forget about it?

I was wondering if it was possible to frame the 600mm panes with wood/ plastic but I wouldn't have a clue where to start.

the greenhouse is aluminium

Cheers

Tommy

Forget about it. Loose wrong sized panes will most likely blow out in strong winds. When I made my greenhouse three or four years ago the glass was priced at 22 per pane. 450mm
* 600mm * 4mm and needed approximately 80 to replace all the broken ones, a hefty bill. I made a few calls to lads that work in window installation and got the whole lot for nothing. I then paid the man to come home with me and cut them all to size as I fitted them. 150 I gave him. Maybe you could do something similar.
