Grow Cook Eat is the first series on RTÉ to respond to the burgeoning interest in growing your own food: you can grow vegetables and fruit in a very small garden, or even in containers on an apartment balcony. You don’t need half an acre or a polytunnel to do it. Anyone see it what did you think. Ill tell you what I thought if interested. |

I only live in 3 channel land so I pay my license and watching TV I want to be entertained I thought it poor enough programme and I like gardening so hoped it would have been more professional and related to season we are in. Looks like it was filmed last year with one camera and small budget. The bits I saw the talked about composting on a huge scale and recycling, someday people will believe me this is a joke as we recycle nothing only PR spin its exported to china. Large scale recycling is beyond anyone with a small garden yes you can have your own compost heap. They also grew a few spuds and they were talking about storing them, Ha I would have ate the crop in one sitting. if you are going to have a garden programme it should be relevant, achievable and enjoyable. its a long way to go and huge resources and money to reach the standard of some of the British programmes I saw in the past, Why not just buy them in as they are excellent productions very professionally made and they would be just as relevant to the Irish gardener here. I will not be watching it again as I hope to be in my own garden if this weather ever improves, first time in 30 years I will not have spuds in the ground during March. have not even turned the soil yet as it is so wet. |
