Hi All,
Will a laurel hedge grow in a wet bog.
my garden is on a bog and in some areas it can be very wet. Especially in the winter. often waterlogged in spots.
I took some laurel cuttings in the summer and about 50 of them have rooted, just wondering if they will grow in this area.

My neighbour planted a Laurel Hedge and where it was very wet the plants aren't doing so well (But still growing)
Against that, down the road from us are a couple of acres of no-man's land, very marshy and boggy and Laurels are taking over there.
So, I've no definite answer for you. I'd just try it. You've nothing to lose really. _________________ .

Cheers Kindredspirit,
As you said I've nothing to lose they didn't cost me a penny I might pot them up now and let them develop a bit more and plant them in their final spot around the summer time. I rooted them in sand so a bit of goodness wont go astray in the springtime.

Next door neighbour's garden is VERY boggy in places. He wanted a laurel hedge and I suggested he plant them on a ridge of soil. That was 3 years ago. He now has a very healthy 6'+ laurel hedge! _________________ Be humble, for you are made of earth
