Mighty. Hectic. Enjoyable. Drinkladen. Wrecked.

Quality time with the boys - priceless.

Missed the ferry yesterday afternoon due to the M4 being closed for a few hours after a pile up. So we didn't get home until 5-30 am. Almost 24 hours travelling as a result.

That's the problem. When we go to UK to see the family we have to have 2 days each side of the holiday just for travelling.

Yes, it's usually 12 hours door to door went we go to see my sister. It's quicker to fly to friends in Spain!

Glad you had a good time Tagwex. Very Happy

Thanks Lady F.
At most 10 hours door to door for me. Won't fly. Needed the car anyway as we had a load of places to go to and public transport just wouldn't have done it for us.

That's what we do as if we fly, by the time you've hired a car at the other end theres not much difference in cost. Plus when you go by ferry theres no weight limit so we can bring back as much as we want.
Quite agree Sue when we lived in Kent we used to go to Somerset to see Mum and it sometimes took 6 hours pending on traffic. Here if we fly we can do it in less than 4. The only set back is you can't get to Bristol from Knock in wintertime, so we have to travel to Dublin.

The no weight limit was only any good in the good old days of duty free.

I know that. But there isn't much point bringing a car now as one can't load up as one used to on the Christmas binge run. Given the choice for that reason one would fly.
