I heard about this on the radio this morning going to work, not long back actually.

Anybody been/heard about it/any comments? _________________ “It’s my field. It’s my child. I nursed it. I nourished it. I saw to its every want. I dug the rocks out of it with my bare hands and I made a living thing of it!”

They seem to have latched on to a very successful idea that's just had its second outing near here in Leap. Local people make scarecrows and then mount them in all sorts of humorous poses down the main N71 through the village. One might be riding a bike. Another might be disappearing over the parapet of a bridge etc. All very amusing but harmless. _________________ A novice gardener on newly cultivated, stoney ground. |

Yes, Greengage, Leap's a very lively village, mostly thanks to a chap called Ger O'Sullivan who, amongst other things, runs the Wild Atlantic Diner at the bottom of the street beside the waterfall. Good food at good prices. I trust you had a visa for West Cork? _________________ A novice gardener on newly cultivated, stoney ground. |
