This one's quite ingenious. I'm not so sure about the Chinese one, bearing in mind they've got so much open space anyway. Irrigation of the French one could be an interesting project?

If the Chinese can irrigate mountain sides for centuries by hand in order to grow rice in paddy fields then I am pretty sure that they will come up with a solution for this.
