I have often posted before on the amount of people on here and wasting time i checked out how many joined and never said hello?
There are 135 pages listed with 50 per page which gives a grand total of 6750 people who have register on the site and never posted anything.
We have recently welcomed new members but they seem to have dissappeared too.?
There are three pages total of 150 members who have posted at least 50 times.
it would be interesting to know how many actualy check in on posts.
At 7.00am this morning there are 32 users on line we cannot all be insomniacs.

I check in at least twice a day. Lack of posts just means that I haven't had any questions that I need to ask recently.

Well I can account for one of those who joined and never posted. I joined a while before I posted for the first time. When I decided to post something, the system didn't recognise me and I had to re-register. Can't get rid of me now! Laughing

I usually check-in a couple of times a week, unless I get notices.

I'm on another site, where I check in 2 -3 times a day - we're quite a chatty bunch. But I have noticed there are usually a dozen or so 'guests'. Admin on the site has recently apologised to overseas members because they had put an extra layer into their 'check-in' because of scammers/time-wasters and sick bxxxxxs fake posts. One problem of the 'world wide' web. Evil or Very Mad

Check out James' (remember him?) comments on page 6 in particular to check out just who the insomniacs are. Never did get an answer on the record 319 users on at the same time.

A lot of ground was covered in that thread and as far as I can see so far very little done about it.

Well done Greengage for bringing up this perennial problem again.

I only check once a week, these days, unless I get an email notice. Busy life!

I seem to recall there were a few problem areas mentioned last time, but were fended off on a sort of 'get used to it' theme. My habit is to check for emails and posts while I have my early cuppa, then maybe later in the day again depending on what else I have to do. I often read through what others have written, but don't have anything to contribute - so I don't!

When I joined, I have to admit the atmosphere was far more 'businesslike' and, if you like, 'dry' BUT we had far more contributors and I'm rather doubtful whether I'd have continued if I was starting today. Any newbie could easily get the impression he/she was interrupting a members club, and the banter, often meaning the thread is lost, may be harmless but not to the taste of some.

'Club' members don't forget, maintaining the site will presumably rely on the numbers using it. Advertisers won't be interested in putting their messages in front of the same couple of dozen names, however many posts they put in, and the whole thing could implode.

Swings and roundabouts Blowin. I have been on other forums, had a question answered, in a very business-like way, and not been back since.

I know we go horribly off-topic sometimes, but when friends chat, that's just what happens.
