Totally for what it's worth, one of those circular things came round today in my email inbox, outlining all the benefits of cucumbers. One claim was that, if a few slices are placed in an aluminium dish of some sort, presumably a pie tray would do, there is a reaction between the two which gives off an aroma, not noticeable to humans but intolerable to bugs in greenhouses. _________________ A novice gardener on newly cultivated, stoney ground. |

I hope not. That's my birthday and I'll be a year older. I've seen similar lists of benefits for things like vinegar but this was one of the claims, so I put it out for anyone to evaluate. _________________ A novice gardener on newly cultivated, stoney ground. |

Well we won't be able to test it for a few months. Must clean out my greenhouse soon, lots of algae on the interior side of the glass. Hope the power hose doesn't blow out my glass panes. _________________ “It’s my field. It’s my child. I nursed it. I nourished it. I saw to its every want.
