Is there any way to get rid of these, apart from physical removal. It amazes me that l never hear a mention of them anywhere considering they're so bad from a gardeners prospective and they have spread to every county, both north and south?

There are those on here who know about nematodes, but I don't so all I do is either remove them, as you say, or use the slug treatment of salt on them. Let's wait until the others reply.

Press the search button at the top of the page and you will find that those little buggers have been mentioned here many a time.
