I know it is a waste but I wouldn't bother cleaning a sprayer, I'd just buy a new one.
Yesterday I was talking to my friend who has a garden centre and gardening business. Last year he attended a talk on issues surrounding spraying pesticides/herbicides. He has worked with them for years, but after what he learned there he said the total ban can't come soon enough.
He was told traces of the stuff can be found in rinse water in a washing machine! _________________ Be humble, for you are made of earth

I don't like wastage either so I think I'd wash the spray out thoroughly and leave it out to dry completely. I'd then fill it up to the top with whatever I next chose as a weed killer and work on the basis that any of the undesirable stuff would be so diluted its harm would be minimal. If I had more than one area to apply the spray to, I'd use the first application on something like a path, rather than a veg plot but the above ought to satisfy all bar the most fanatical 'antis'? _________________ A novice gardener on newly cultivated, stoney ground. |
