Trotsky had 14 children with, I think, 3 women, most died in infancy. One was illegitimate, the others had various surnames and Trotsky had also changed his name too. I think the original name was Bernstein so the children had all sorts of surnames. His youngest children used their mothers surname. It is a real mess. You may look it up to get the full answer.
