He had perfectly pronounceable English names.

Just think: the Turner Prize in England brings in big viewing figures. It all depends on what you value, doesn't it.
I mean, I'd rather watch a brush-off between leading painters or a chipping contest for stone carvers than see thirty sweaty men kick a wobbly ball about. And as for small white balls and bent sticks, well!

How can it be off topic when it is in the jokes, games and puzzles section?

Arthur Ramnsome wrote the Swallows and Amazons children's books. He spent a lot of time in Russia during the revolution. Journalist? Spy? There's a fascinating biography, "The Last Englishman:The Double Life of Arthur Ransome" by Roland Chambers. If you're interested in the Russian revolution it's a good read. He had a long relationship with Trotsky's daughter, Tatiana.

Ahhh I got mixed up with Tolstoys daughter Tatiana. She had an affair with Mikhail Sergeevich Sukhotin, on the wrong track altogether. Told you it was unpronouncable!
