Do you know is the hedge all dead, or what killed it, Keeks?
I don't want to scare you, but it might be worth your while giving this piece an in-depth read..... http://www.gardenplansireland.com/forum/about1697.html

The hedge was alive and well until I got the saw to it. It was 3 foot wide and 12 feet tall. It even survived a previous clipping from me when I reduced the width by over a foot.

The reason for removing the hedge is that it was neglected by the previous owners of the house and it easier to plant a new one than try tame the old one. Cutting it right back would leave it patchy and bare that it wouldn't look great.....

A new hedge would just freshen up the area and also fancy a different variety.

Honey Fungus came to mind which was why I originally posted, but wanted to see if anyone else would think that rather that put the idea into people's heads first. Interesting read but I am not convinced (at the moment) that This is honey fungus but will keep an eye out.

Thanks James

I thought it was Waterford. The general gist is that what I wanted to say is unprintable!!! Most people would have latched on to that.

Ahhh but you did bother writing your few words GJ and they are much appreciated.
What can I say, I'm the lovable sort? One of you may start up that thread as it would be too precocious of me if I were to do it.
As you for you James, the puns will have to stop as we get more than enough of them from Good Guy.
