Here are some I took yesterday. I'm pleased with how the late-summer colours are working out. I'm glad the agapanthus finally decided to flower!

Thank you all for your generous comments. Of course, I only take pictures of the bits that look well! There's some very iffy bits in there too, but generally I'm pleased with how it's developing.
I'm beginning to get excited at the prospect of the new project - that will introduce some much more geometric, formal structures as well as distracting the eye from the whole garden. As you come down my steep drive, because of the elevation, at present you see almost all of the garden at once. I've planned a pergola, raised alpine beds and a 'pillar' of yew to change all that.
Meanwhile, there will be a lot of work to do, lifting, dividing and otherwise reorganising the planting that will be in the way of the new build.

About the pond, Sue: it is looking well but I never got on top of the blanket weed this year. I'm going to have to be a lot more ruthless about cleaning it out in late autumn and removing the wind blown leaves during the winter. Also, some of the marginal planting is doing almost too well. I'm going to have to curb its enthusiasm! But as a wildlife resource, which was one of my main reasons for having it, it's doing really well.

I always say a garden is a work in progress it is never finished. You should be well pleased that all your hard work has paid off. My garden ( excuse ) is that I have a wild garden Very impressive for this time of year
