Hi tippben
Just read and Metrosideros excelsa flowers November to January. I do believe Greengage got it right and it is Embothrium coccineum . If someone happens to drive from New Ross (Co Wexford) to Wexford town there is a few houses with that tree and it flowers for last 2/3 weeks. It looks really beautiful..Have not seen that before and want it in my garden...Thank you anyway
Rgds

Whereabouts? That is a 28 mile drive.

Driving from New Ross these plants start on lefthand side around Carrickbyrne - Cedar Lodge Hotel and the last one is at the left turn to Adamstown
