Not sure what a Euro Australian lettuce should look like. But they look sort of cabbagey/cress-like (a BIG family). Are they growing anywhere else? Perhaps they are rogue seeds.

A couple of years back I sowed some Bronze fennel, most of it came out the ordinary green.

It's a large lettuce variety, can grow to 500mm heads. Looked up your hens feet and found a weed called fat hen instead. It does look similar alright but I didn't let mine get to the flowering stage so I'm not sure. Whilst looking I found an excellent Teagasc publication for weed identification called Illustrated Guide Tillage Weeds. Plenty of photos at different life stages. I will be downloading that for future reference.
