Picked up next week's offer leaflet this morning from Lidl and, if anyone's looking for collapsible plastic storage trays/crates for apples, onions etc., they have three sizes on offer next Thursday (7 May). They're not exactly cheap but, being plastic, will obviously last for years if looked after. _________________ A novice gardener on newly cultivated, stoney ground. |

Looks good Blowin. I wonder though are those prices for 1 or 5. I looked it up on the website. Is the brochure saying €10 each for the largest ones? The website looks like it might be €10 for 5. _________________ “It’s my field. It’s my child. I nursed it. I nourished it. I saw to its every want. Also, John Innes no. 2 compost, 3.99 for 60 litres. Not bad. Might pick up a couple of bags today. |

To me, it looks like 'each'. If it wasn't, the small ones would be costing 40c each and even Lidl couldn't do them that cheaply? As I said in my opener, they're not cheap, especially @ €10 for the big one, so I'll keep looking for a cake firm's delivery driver to see if I can avail myself of a few. _________________ A novice gardener on newly cultivated, stoney ground. |

So it's not clear then. Lidl might surprise us yet with a bargain!

Received e-mail back from Lidl today. The largest crates are €10 each. _________________ “It’s my field. It’s my child. I nursed it. I nourished it. I saw to its every want. I dug the rocks out of it with my bare hands and I made a living thing of it!”
