I found these daffodils growing in a haggart near my grandmothers home and transplanted a few around the place and bought them here to Dublin with me. I've never seen them commercially available and it took me a while to find what variety they were. Apparently they were introduced to Britain in the 1600s from Flanders, where they came from before that is not really known.
They grow about 12" tall and form dense clumps, are very hardy and have a pleasant scent .

Lovely flowers, Mews. Well done for taking the time to track down the name. I like to see old words and expressions revived, too. They are part of what we are. |
