Good Guy you need to redeem yourself for past misdemeanours. Apply logic and you will get the answer. It can be done and it is not impossible. The answer, when you see it, makes perfect sense.

I'll bet it's some kind of mathematical sleight of hand. Fusty Hazelett, who had the pleasure of my attendance in his maths classes, if not my attention, used to do stuff like that on the board at the end of term, to show off. It was a long time ago and I can't remember how it went.
