So now I know about Godwin's Law, too. What a wonderful forum! Thank you for all the extra info Baabamaal.
Given that glass was invented by the Egyptians (or was it the Romans? Whatever) anyway, the thought that my bottle might once have been graced by the lips of Cleopatra isuch more appealing! |

Given the forum, I would have thought you would have fantasized more about the glass touching the lips of Capability Brown as he toasted the Duke of Marlborough to mark the landscaping of Blenheim Palace. The base urges of some on here!
Ah well |

In fact, Joseph Paxton would be more a hero of mine (along with Telford, Brunel and Stephenson). But I'd much rather fantasise about Cleopatra! |

Very interesting Geranimojess, learn something new everyday. I see though that the one point that occurred to me in using glass in roadways was covered in that it is limited to low speed roads due to the lesser skid resistance.
This thread is now closed thanks to Baabamaal mentioning Godwins Law, them is the rules and we must obey. Apologies to Ray and Fiona.

I had so much more to say about glass recycling, but fair enough, I brought this on mysef!!
If you have blue glass it can go in with the brown or green but NOT the clear (sorry, couldn't help it). |
