Hi folks! As the title says, sadly I'm in an apartment with only a balcony for outdoor space, but I'm keen to make it my own little green haven.
So I'll be after advice and instruction on how and what to plant as I've never even kept house plants up to now! Embarassed

Welcome, Addmagnet. I like your attitude! You'd be surprised what you can grow, with a little ingenuity and a willingness to experiment.
A few questions: size of balcony; what direction does it face; is it high up or low down (exposure is a factor); is it sunny or shaded; does it have a solid surround, or glass, or railings. Also, do you have sunny windowsills.
Do you want to grow things to eat, or simply to look at?
Give us info like that and I'm sure you will be showered with suggestions.
Good luck and happy growing.

Welcome...Addmagnet...dont let that put you off...as GG says there is lots you can do with what you have........reminds me of a Joke I heard a while back..."A Husband arrives Home after Shopping in the Local Garden Center/Hardware Store loaded down with a Lawnmower-Shovel-Rake-Fertilizer-Plants... the Wife looks Him and his Purchases over and sez'...Do you not think you went a little overboard with your Buys...I mean we only have a Window-Box on the 10th Floor...

Just like Gym drop-out rates at more than 80% in the first eight weeks of signing up. People do thing on a spur of the moment with the best intentions, then never follow through. A fact of life unfortunately.
