Can I recommend an excellent book on bumblebees, I am currently contributing to the bumblebees survey run by Biodiversity Ireland and came across this book in Easons, called A sting in the tale by Dave Goulson, it is about his adventures with Bumblebees very informative and funny. You can listen to a little audio clip here,
