Last year I bought a good plant from a reputable supplier, with a view to dividing it and adding to the ferns near my pond. BUT I FORGOT ALL ABOUT IT!

 Description:
It was ignored for a year until I removed it from its pot the other day. The roots were largely rotten so I removed all but the sound material and the divided it into three. A few green shoots are just about visible at the top.

 Description:
The roots were infested with Vine Weevil grubs, which is carefully removed before putting them on the bird table for the robins. It seems there are lots of Vine Weevils around, due to the mild winters.

The 1st Photo of the Root reminded me of an old "B.Movie" I saw recently while Browsing the TV Channels..."The Thing from the Deep" Rolling Eyes

If the photo was better and you could get a better look at two of the grubs on the left you would see that they are metamorphosing into the pre-adult stage.
Enlarge them and animate them and they would probably eat the 'Thing from the Deep' for breakfast!
