hi all
i neveer got the chance to lift my leeks as yet and i noticed scapes on them similar to garlic scapes and wondered if i could use them in the same way.
thanks in advance for any enlightenment

I'd use your leeks as soon as possible. They'll have a hard inedible core, and the scape isn't much better. The good news is that these parts are fine for making stock. You'll still get the flavour.
