Well it seems to be drying up around here at last. Will soon have to get the neighbour in with the plough and rotavator. The query is: last year quite late on, probably too late, I got another 9 drills ready for a winter crop of cabbage, brocolli, sprouts, turnip, swede, onion, radish and carrots.
The pheasants and wood pigeons done the brassicas in so WW3 will be waged on them this year, the turnips and swede are approx. tennis ball sized but again the birds have had the leaves off of them, the onions did not grow at all, radish was a success and the carrots were so so. Correct me if I am wrong but will the turnip and swede come again this spring after being dormant or should I just plough it all up and start again?
