http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-25864631 No x Sherlock? Same thing applies in our country, though peat bogs do much of the work here. More trees please! Less turf cutting. If the right trees are planted, we can cut our first crop in 5 years time. Hazel and Ash. And we (collectively) can keep cutting them on a cycle for hundreds of years. Fewer floods, no more bog destruction. It won't happen wholescale, I know, but every person who encourages it makes it more possible, and helps prevent worse flooding as the earth warms up. |

when i saw the thread title, my initial reaction was 'you wouldn't get much water in a nutshell'. |
