my pieris mountain fire has some leaves going yellow. they should be green this time of year. would it be lack of iron ? it is in acid compost and was fed during year |

Sorry...misread your Thread...checked out other similar Forums and the general opinion is one of three possible causes...Lack of water reaching the Roots...Lack of Iron...Wrong Soil.
Discounting No3...you confirmed Acidic Soil...it was suggested to insert your Finger into the Soil surrounding the Plant and check the Moisture content... sometimes a scale forms around the Plant { Air and Sun hardens the Ground } thus preventing Water getting to the Roots...add Manure/Leafmould to the Compost in the hole to retain Moisture...Lack of Iron is also a common cause... it also suggests removing the Yellow Leaves...while looking unsightly come Spring new Red growth should appear...
