I went for a walk on Sunday, to one of my favourite places on Earth, Lough Gartan, in Donegal.
It is about 20 minutes drive from my house, and a lovely area (birthplace of St Columbanus, incidentally). The Glebe Gallery is on the northern shore of the lake and I like to walk in its gardens, sometimes. It was once the house of the English artist, Derek Hill, who bequeathed the house and lands, together with his considerable art collection, to the Irish nation.
Lough Gartan is in the next valley to Glenveagh National Park, so when you are in Donegal, don't miss either of them. Glenveagh has great gardens.
The first two photos are taken on the lake shore, "at the bottom of the garden". The third is looking eastward from the opposite end of the lough.

How about this, for a pond at the bottom of the garden? |
