Hi,
I've a newish lawn that was a bit patchy in places so I applied a bit of top dressing and new lawn seed and it worked a treat. I've now decided to top dress the rest of the lawn also. I've aerated the lawn and have half a lorry load of top soil delivered. I thought it would be a matter of spreading the topsoil using the quarter inch rule but to my horror the soil is lumpy and stones through out it ( not too many tho), but at the same time too granular to leave a fine blanket. I'm now sieving 11 tonnes of topsoil which isn't the nicest of jobs, and not too good for the auld back!
Any advice on a quicker method of doing this as I've only about a third done in two half days?
If I used the soil rake to spread evenly then a leaf rake to gather up the stones and lumps, would this be easier do ye think?
Thanks,
Bob. |
