hi,
i'm looking to put some 6ft planters outside the front garden and am looking for advice for some sort of shrub or hedge to go in it. we're hoping to maintain it at about 3/4ft in height. i'm wondering how deep i will need the box to be to grow something this height?? have seen some boxes on donedeal which look good but i'm just wondering if they are deep enough??
thanks |

First the best plant options to achieve 3/4ft would be:
lonicera pileata
lonicera nitida
ligustrum japonicum
Taxus
Escallonia
Really for any hedge that should reach 4 ft in height then the planter would need to be a ft deep and 1.5 ft wide.
Good Luck! |

You'd be waiting a while for Buxus to reach 3ft.... |

I agree with the Garden Shop, you would be waiting quite a while. I would consider other options. |
